Tarquin Wood was born in Kenya where he grew up and was educated in the UK. After a spell of travelling and working with the TV show CBS "Survivor" he returned to Kenya in 2003 to set up the 1500 acre Olerai Mara Farm, part of the Wood family farming business. Tarquin is a highly experienced arable and livestock farmer with a deep understanding of pastoral communities. He is an experienced project manager and team leader and has managed up to 1200 people working on the farm. Tarquin is passionate about wildlife and conservation and has been working with local community groups in Maasailand in livestock and natural resource management since 2000. Tarquin is the Founder of Mara Beef and the Mara Training Centre, where he works with communities on improving Sustainable Rangeland Management and providing pastoralists access to markets through Mara Beef.
